Chef John Carson came to Oklahoma from Buffalo, NY in June of 1995 to assist in the development of a more efficient food service delivery process for the largest health care system in Oklahoma. At that time, the hospital was expanding and building additional patient facilities. The hospital network wanted to create a system-wide standardized food service program for all of their locations. Chef John was instrumental in developing the Cook-Chill method of food prep for the Tulsa hospital. He had previously been part of the R&D Team for a corporate food service contracting company on the east coast; a company on the “cutting edge” of the Cook-Chill delivery system. Two years later, John left to develop his own company to further his “passion for food” as an entrepreneur. That’s how Imperial Food Service was born in 1998. Five years later, Imperial Food Service was spun off and Carson’s Food Service Management took center stage.

As an independent contract food service company, Carson’s is able to customize dining programs that meet the needs of your facility. Flexibility, mobility, control and “on the spot” decision making as allows us to compete against larger contract foodservice companies. Our team consists of seasoned culinary professionals with hands-on experience in specialized food service training. Also working with our staff is Sandy Keith, a Registered Dietitian. Sandy assists in menu development, nutritional analysis, and ensuring we meet state dietary guidelines for all age groups and any special nutrition needs of our clientele. Our regional and unit managers bring their expertise from the restaurant and hotel industries.
